I was reading CS Lewis to our son from the Book of Virtues and I realized how aptly it described our day and the falsehood of society expectations "We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful" (Men Without Chests, CS Lewis).

"And now behold, my people, ye are a stiffnecked people; wherefore, I have spoken plainly unto you, that ye cannot misunderstand. And the words which I have spoken shall stand as a btestimony against you; for they are sufficient to cteach any man the dright way; for the right way is to believe in Christ and deny him not; for by denying him ye also deny the prophets and the law" (2 Nephi 25:28).

I hope our society can return to virtue. It will be the best solution to our situation.

There is so much more to life than ___________. Its interesting how often people create false realities to supplement or replace life. Video games will never be as realistic as life. At a party, if you cannot remember the night before how can you call it a good time? The best way to live life is to live it, not create some false perception of what it really is. The measure of how good something is, is how it improves you and your relationships.

To be a father is a wonderful thing. Something I discovered as I celebrated my first Father's day. I have a wonderful adoptive father and now a son. I had no idea what this would feel like. We are going to celebrate our one year anniversary soon and I think I am starting to get used to being a husband. My wife tells me that I do a great job so I guess I don't have to worry too much. Taking a new child into our home is a lot of responsibility. He was born just a few weeks ago and he is already growing so fast. . We both gave our parents some interesting challenges and I only hope we are up for the adventure.
